2012 Lansing Lighthouse 5K A Success!

Awesome morning for the Lansing Lighthouse 5K!  The sky cleared up, air a bit heavy, but nonetheless we still saw some personal records.  All-Star for the day was Scott Miller, Lansing, hitting a best time of 22:34, dropping 1:20 off of his previous record.  A couple years ago he started at over 26 minutes at the Chris Bond 5K in T-Burg, and he will look to hit 21 minutes by the end of this year.  He told me his earned his first career athletic medal today, as he finished in the top 3 for men’s 40-49.  Tara Gross completed her first 5K and Sonya Eastman hit a PR!  We had bootcampers from Moravia, King Ferry, Molino, Kendal at Ithaca, and Groton.  Mic Kern, Groton grad, captured the overall victory, while Groton student Robert Dunham finished second.  Thanks to Bruce Barber for putting on a well organized race, we had over 100 participants.  Be sure to come back for Lisa’s Run 5K at Myers Park on September 22nd!
